WMA Design Committee Home Page

The members of the Design Committee are volunteers dedicated to assisting homeowners in either building their first residence or improving existing property. We want to make the process as seamless and efficient as possible.  "We are here to help!”. If you have a project that requires Design Committee approval please fill out the application and send it in.  Small projects cost nothing and you will have a decision usually 48 hours or less.

Land owners should contact the Design Committee for any questions or copies of WMA Design Committee Minutes and/or a list of previous approved projects by sending your requests to wmadcchair@outlook.com

Procedure to call into the WMA Design Committee:

WMA Design Committee Meetings are teleconferences on a as needed basis. If there is no new business or old business to be discussed, the meeting will be postponed until the next month. If you wish to participate in a teleconference please contact wmadcchair@outlook.com for the date, time and call-in numbers.

WMA Design Committee Application:

The WMA has rules and requirements for all building projects within the association.

All submissions must have a completed and signed application.  Members can view and/or download the application under the WMA Design Committee Documents tab.

Instruction Steps:

Step1: Determine Submission Type

Design review submissions are broken down into three categories: (1) minor variations/changes, (2) major improvements, and (3) new dwellings.  

Minor Improvements: may consist of,  are not limited to: paint color change to the exterior of a building, minor landscaping changes, installation of a fence, etc.

Major Improvements: may consist of, but are not limited to: expansions and/or major renovations of approved structures; substantial alterations of existing building forms, elevations or roofs; installation of solar (or wind) systems, lot line adjustments, installation of an orchard or parking area, road construction; other improvements that are outside the footprint of the approved dwelling structures; etc.

Step 2: Elements Required for Submission 

Minor Changes

  • WMA application - complete the applicable sections, sign and date it.  Include a Design Narrative-basically what do you want to do.
  • Initial Application Fee of $100 payable to WMA – sent into Associa
  • The WMA DC is waiving the fees for submissions pertaining to fences, gates, and the planting or removal of trees.


Major Improvements

  • WMA application - complete all the sections, sign and date it.
  • Complete set of drawings including a plot plan, elevations, etc.
  • Design Narrative stating what you want to do
  • Initial Application Fee of $100 payable to WMA – sent into Associa


New Residences

  • WMA application - complete the applicable sections, sign and date it.
  • Working Drawings (full sets of architectural drawings and specifications)
  • Design Narrative.
  • Initial Application Fee of $100 payable to WMA
